Ella was the daughter of Edmund and Emma Friese. and was born in Germany, moved to the US after World War II at the age of 12 with her parents and siblings. After entering through New York, they First moved to Colorado where she lived and helped with the farm chores. The family then moved to Milwaukee Wi. She married and raised a family. Ella worked at Hartters Bakery and Grebe"s Bakery. Ella moved to Peoria Arizonia to retire . She worked in Arizonia at Fry's grocery store as a baker before full retirement. Durning her 25 years in Arizonia she spent time enjoying the warm sunny desert, doing activities such as playing boccee ball where she came in first place in a tournament, being a member of the Peoria Moose Lodge where she would cook and listen to karaoke, spending time with her grandaughter when she came to visit going to the phoenix zoo, Sedona, Grand Canyon and tips to Disneyland and playing many board games. Ella enjoyed coming back to Wisconsin in the summer to go to Germanfest with her brothers and sisters and the rest of the family and going to state fair and the Milwaukee Zoo. She moved back to Wisconsin six years ago to the Gables of Germantown. We want to thank the staff at the Matterhaus memory care for the loving care for over the last three years. A special thank you to caregiver Debbie for her great care. We also want to thank Tammy and Brittney from Preceptor Hospice for their loving care of mom.
Ella Platek passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, at the age of 86 Loving mother of Lance (Deanna) Platek and Barbi Huckstorf. Proud grandmother of Danielle. Dear sister of Elsie (the late Frank) Gnand, Horst (Jean) Friese, Monika (Tom) Melita, Hanna Klug, Peter (Cindy) Friese, Rosie (Jeff) Mazoch, Bill Friese and Linda (John) Fuchs. Ella is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial gathering will be held, on Sat March 21st, at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home N84 W17937 Menomonee Ave. beginning at 10:30 with a memorial service to follow at 11:30am.
