On February 12th, 2026, the Lord called her home. Age 92 years. Loving wife of Robert J. Metzner and Gary Pulter. Devoted Best Mom of Eric, Lynn (Ray) Seidl and the late Mark. Proud Grandma (Oma) of Lucas, Brady, and John. Caring sister of James J. (Martha) Robertson and the late Rosalind (the late Don) Boville. Aunt of Margot (Mark) Metzner-Mandelkern, Sally Robertson, Lisa Danner, James Szymanski, Diane Goodwin, Laura (Craig) Simmons-Larsen, Steve (Rebecca) Szymanski, the late Bruce Metzner, the late James M. Robertson, and the late Ramona Robertson. Sister-in-law of the late Carroll and Peggy Metzner, the late Thomas Szymanski, and the late Don Boville. Great-aunt of Allyson (Sam) Hider, Tommy Szymanski, Ryan Szymanski, James (formerly Jimmy) Szymanski, Karen Kerr and the late Erin Danner. Survived by her former daughter-in-law, Jennifer Metzner.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 28th, 2026 at Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home (10121 W. North Ave, Wauwatosa, WI, 53226) from 3:00 pm until the time of sharing of remembrances at 3:30 pm. The funeral service will begin at 4:00 pm.
Diane often worked part-time to support the family. Her former jobs are woefully inadequate in describing her outsized personality. Diane had an openness that made strangers feel welcome. She was a teacher of extraordinary talent who never taught in a traditional classroom. She had a good sense of humor right up until the end. She was kind, generous, thoughtful, creative, but above all, she radiated love.
