Carol A. Freiburger (nee Drexler)
May 20, 1943 - January 31, 2026

Carol Freiburger, 82, of Mukwonago, Wisconsin passed away surrounded by family in the early hours of January 31, 2026. Carol was born on May 20, 1943, in Cudahy, Wisconsin to Ann and Harold Drexler. She grew up in Milwaukee and graduated from Pius Xi High School in 1961, where she met her husband Roger as well as lifelong friends.

After high school, Carol took to creating a home for her husband and children. Working tirelessly in the kitchen cooking delicious food, she always attended to the needs of others before herself. Whether it be gardening, quilting, baking, canning, or knitting, Carol always found ways to make things for the people she cared about.

She married the love of her life, Roger, on June 20, 1964, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Together they built a home and raised a family. Carol and Roger first lived together in Jacksonville Beach, Florida in an apartment on the ocean while Roger was in the Navy. From there, they moved back to Wauwatosa, Wi, and finally to Mukwonago, Wi. All the while Carol took care of the kids and home.

Carol loved nothing more than spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always willing to try new and nerve-wracking things, whether it be uprooting to move across the country to live with the love of her life, parasailing in the Caribbean (despite not knowing how to swim), or going to Luxe Golf bays and hitting an entire bucket of golf balls for the first time at age 81 – so long as it meant spending time with her family.

Carol is survived by her husband, Roger, her children Mike (Dawn) Freiburger, Jim (Christi) Freiburger, and Leanne (Ambrose) Ciano, her grandchildren Duncan (Ashley) Freiburger, Connor Freiburger, Garrett (Kelsey) Freiburger, Caleb (Grace) Freiburger, her sister Diane (Rich) Schulz, and many beloved friends.

All are welcome to join in mass on Saturday, February 14 at 12:30PM at St. James Catholic Church in Mukwonago (830 E Veterans Way). Visitation will then take place at 2PM, followed by a memorial service at 4PM at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home, also in Mukwonago (930 Main St), on Saturday, February 14. Luncheon to follow.

Carol lived a full life filled with love, laughter, and an enduring desire to care for her family. She will be deeply missed.
