Michael David Schultz passed away on 1/26/026 after an amazing battle with Pancreatic Cancer. He was diagnosed in October of 2023. He decided to live with cancer. This included… Family Road trips, college football games, RV trips, summers in Crivitz, daughters’ high school graduations, daughter’s college graduation, Salt lake, Yellowstone, Hawaii, Dominican Republic, and so much more.
He lived so he could have more time.
Michael was born September 26, 1974 to Sharyl and David Schultz in Milwaukee, WI. Michael learned his amazing work ethic from his mother. With that work ethic, he and his two sisters (Kim and Robin) moved all over the country for her job. Unfortunately, his father passed at the age of 43. His extended family did the best they could to fill that role. The only benefit of his father’s passing was that Mike considered every year after the age of 43 as a “bonus year” and lived his life as such.
He returned to Menomonee Falls in middle school where he met many friends and continued to grow his love of football, winning a high school conference championship. He then went to Carroll College where he played football, graduated with a BS in Exercise Science, and began coaching football. He continued to make life long friends and also met his wife Alyssa (Franzen) in 1997.
Mike and Alyssa married June 15, 2002. After having moved 26 times, he settled in DePere, WI where he has lived in the same home since 2002. Mike has three amazing daughters Skylar, Kenadie, and Savannah. Mike has many accomplishments in his life but his proudest is of his daughters. Skylar recently graduated from UW Madison and is pre med, Kenadie is studying Education at UW Green Bay, and Savannah is studying Biomedical Engineering at the University of Tennessee- Knoxville.
Mike worked at Total Energy Systems for the past 18 years. He ended his career as the Vice President. While working he continued to Coach Football with the majority of his coaching years at St Norbert college.
Most people in life are lucky to have a handful of close friends, somehow he has been able to surround himself with countless friends. At least 10 of these people refer to Mike as their best friend. He is one of the most loyal friends one could ever have.
He taught his friends, teammates, players, employees, and family how important it is to always say “I love you,” to “bring it in for the real thing” and always hug with two arms.
He taught his players that they are not entitled to win and that they need to work hard for it.
He has been called coach on the football field and by his employees. He has coached them not just to win, but to be better men, great fathers, and even better husbands.
