Lois A. Dewey (nee McGrath)
August 15, 1944 - January 21, 2026

Lois Ann Dewey (née McGrath), of the Town of Eagle and formerly of Mukwonago, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on January 21, 2026. She was born on August 15, 1944, in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and grew up in the close‑knit community of Eagle, where she formed lifelong friendships and values rooted in family, faith, and service.

Lois graduated from Mukwonago High School in 1962 and went on to attend the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater, earning both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education. She devoted her professional life to teaching, beginning with first grade and later third grade in the Mukwonago School District. Over her 28‑year career, she touched countless young lives with her warm spirit, patience, and love of learning.

On July 31, 1965, Lois married her high‑school sweetheart, Daniel C. Dewey. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love, partnership, and unwavering devotion. Their marriage of more than 50 years was a testament to deep companionship. Daniel preceded her in death on January 15, 2016.

Lois was a loving and devoted mother to Deanna L. and Jeffery D. Dewey, and a proud grandmother to William, Laura, and David Dewey, who brought her immeasurable joy. She was the cherished sister of Duane McGrath and Roger (Lucia) McGrath, and a loving sister‑in‑law to Cheryl Dewey and Janell (Hugo) Nickels. She is further survived by many other relatives and numerous dear friends who enriched her life.

A devoted member of Reformation Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lois found community, strength, and purpose in her faith. She had many close and cherished friends within the congregation.

Lois loved to travel, read, and watch birds, finding beauty in simple and quiet moments. She was dedicated and incredibly positive as she saw the best in everyone. Giving of self was her gift to many, especially through her volunteer work making handmade bears for Angel’s Grace, bringing comfort to others during difficult times.

Her family extends a heartfelt thank‑you to all her caregivers, especially the compassionate and supportive team at Angel’s Grace.

Lois will be deeply and forever missed.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 29th, 2026, at Reformation Evangelical Lutheran Church in Dousman (S39 W32819 Hwy D – corner of Hwy D & E) at 10AM followed by a funeral service at NOON.
