Peter passed away peacefully at home on December 12, 2025, at age 89. Loving husband of 62 years to Barb. Beloved father of Renee (Rich) Bira and Rick Bungert. Proud grandpa of RJ (Roxanne) Bira and Daniel Bira. Great-grandfather to Bailey and Scottie. Further survived by other family and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Pauline, and his nine siblings, Chet, Don, Marie, Josie, Harry, Helen, Bob, Ed, and Mike.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army before beginning a 24-year career with Briggs & Stratton, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic. For 26 years, he and his wife enjoyed wintering in Florida, a place that brought him sunshine, friends, and countless memories. An avid car enthusiast, he found joy in attending car shows, watching races, and talking with anyone who shared his passion for engines and speed. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family, and nothing brought him greater happiness than being surrounded by his grandchildren, whom he adored.

Visitation will be held at St. Gabriel Catholic Church (1200 St. Gabriel Way Hubertus), on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 10:30am until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30pm.
