Robert (Bob) Joyce was born on July 20, 1937, in Kansas City, Missouri,  and went home to be with the Lord on November 25, 2025. He lived most of his childhood years in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, until he graduated from college at which time he moved to Wisconsin.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Family was very important to him.

He is preceded in death by his mother Esther (nee Baumgardt) Joyce and his father Edgar Joyce

He is survived by his wife Jo Anne (nee Weinke), his two Sons, Joel Anthony with his wife, Therese, and Mark Robert with his wife, Tracy, his grandchildren Anthony, Alexis, Joel and Michael, and his sister Caroline Barbara Joyce.

Bob was with Milwaukee Public Schools for 31 years. He taught high school electronics. Then he supervised the audio/visual program for several years and ended his career as an elementary school librarian. After that he worked at Plank Road Publishing as an editor for their music educators magazine part time.

He and his wife, Jo Anne, who met in college, played trumpet in the Wauwatosa Community Band, jazz band, and pit orchestras, for over 35 years.

Bob loved trains - the big ones - particularly steam engines. He did a lot of traveling on trains. He and Jo Anne did a lot of traveling - favorite destinations were New York City (to see musical theatre as well as sight seeing) and Hawaii. There were other places as well - too numerous to list.

The most important part of his life was his strong faith in

Christ. He knew he was going to heaven because he believed the gospel of grace that Christ died for his sins on the cross, was buried, and rose again providing resurrection for all who believe. He would want everyone to know that. He is now in heaven with the Lord. Praise God!
