Of Sussex, surrounded by family, went home with grace and peace on November 5, 2025, at age 78 years.
Born in Laona, WI, on April 24, 1947, Kathy was raised in Crandon, WI, a daughter to Edward and Lucille Bergman. Kathy married the boy next door and her best friend, Michael Seefeldt, on May 20, 1967. Together, they made their home in Sussex and raised their family there. Throughout her working years, Kathy was the friendly receptionist who greeted you when you walked through the door. Kathy loved spending time with her friends and family. Getting together with “the girls” (her best friends) for lunch, spending countless weekends at the racetrack, or a family gathering with her children and grandchildren whom she loved dearly, she treasured all the time they shared together. Her favorite place to visit was “her lake,” Lake Metonga in Crandon, where she enjoyed relaxing at the cabin or spending countless hours “looking for bears” … she never did see one. Kathy had an enthusiastic sense of humor, loving heart, gentle spirit, and a deep love of animals. Her memory will forever be cherished by all who knew her.
Kathy is dearly missed by her husband, Michael Seefeldt; son, Michael (Barb) Seefeldt; daughter, Kristin (Michael) Meissner; grandchildren, Colin and Conor Seefeldt, and Lyndee (Tanner) Killmon, and Lucas Meissner; best friend, Linda Altmayer, and her beloved dog, Scout. Kathy is further survived by other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Dawn.
The visitation for Kathy will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 1PM until the time of the memorial service at 3PM at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home in Sussex.
