Dear Tim’s Family,
I want to share how profoundly Tim impacted my life. We met at Michigan Tech in 1980 as engineering students and were roommates for 4 years. It wasn’t as accident that we became roommates, but an answer to prayers by his parents (and maybe others). During a time in life when some fall away from following Christ, Tim and his families example encouraged me to follow Jesus and set the direction of my life.
Tim was incredibly smart and had a gift of teaching, explaining complex things simply. He was also one of the most hospitable people I’ve known. He often invited us to his home (I remember hugs, smell of wood stove, lab dog, and trout pond) and freely shared whatever he had, never holding tightly to worldly possessions. He enjoyed music and had a beautiful singing voice. I would often hear him singing around the room, especially ballads.
Above all, I’ll cherish his friendship and spiritual legacy he left behind. I love him dearly and find great comfort in knowing that this is not a final goodbye. I eagerly look forward to seeing him again soon in the presence of our Lord Jesus.
With love and deepest condolences,
Jeff Hintz
