Bill Wayne Crouch, 78, entered eternal life peacefully at his residence in Mequon on October 23,2025, after a courageous journey with Parkinson’s disease. He was born on February 4, 1947, to Fred and Lillie Crouch in Decatur, Alabama, growing up there before later moving to Kalamazoo, Michigan. There he met the love of his life while they worked together at Family Foods. On July 29, 1966, he married Barbara Ann (nee Harnevious). After his military service, Bill earned Bachelor and Master of Business Administration degrees from Western Michigan University. Ultimately, they made their home in Mequon, Wisconsin where they raised three daughters and built a life full of love, faith and family.
Bill is preceded in death by his devoted wife, Barb, whom he missed deeply since her passing in 2019. His family finds peace in knowing they are now reunited in eternal life. He is survived by his three daughters—Shannon (John) Stoker of Mequon, Erin (Jake) Hoffer of Menomonee Falls, and Allison (Andy) Voeller of Waunakee—and six treasured grandchildren: Sarah and John Stoker, Michael and Timothy Hoffer, and Fritz and William Voeller. He is further survived by a sister, Mary McDonald, of Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Bettye Holbert and Virginia Goddard.
Bill proudly served his country with honor in Vietnam from 1967 to 1969 where he earned two Purple Hearts, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and an Air Medal as well as multiple other commendations which are a testament to his bravery, dedication, and sacrifice. He later took part in the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight and had the opportunity to revisit Vietnam as well.
Following his military service, Bill served as President of Kleen Test Products, a manufacturing company in the Milwaukee area. Known for his strong work ethic and humble nature, he was often found at the plants late at night, checking on progress and ensuring his employees had what they needed. His family fondly remembers that he always came home smelling like Snuggle fabric softener, one of the many products the company manufactured.
A devoted member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Bill served in various capacities over the years. His dedication and integrity were matched by his generous heart, as he and Barb devoted themselves to helping others in their community and church.
Outside of work and church, Bill enjoyed traveling to Arizona and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, where he treasured relaxing with family and friends while creating memories that would last a lifetime.
In recent years, he enjoyed cutting firewood, often with the help of his grandsons and neighbors who brought him trees to split. Bill liked to say that he wanted to have enough firewood for the church fireplace at his funeral, which he certainly will.
Known for his quiet strength, high expectations, and sharp sense of humor, Bill left an impression on everyone who knew him.
A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held at Crossway Church-North Shore campus in River Hills on November 7, 2025, at 11:00 am.
