Dolores Holub (née Gust), of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, was born on December 29, 1932, in Ironwood, Michigan, to Amelia and Al Gust, and passed away on September 13, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Early in life, her family moved to La Crosse, Wisconsin, and in 1939 they settled in Oconomowoc. Dolores graduated from Oconomowoc High School with the Class of 1951. Following graduation, she worked at Western Union with her father before joining the Treasury Department in Oconomowoc, where she met Edward Holub. The two were married on May 25, 1957, and together they raised three children.

Dolores was an avid gardener who won numerous awards for her roses. She also enjoyed arts and crafts and was active in the Oconomowoc Women’s Club, the American Legion Auxiliary, and St. Jerome Catholic Church, where she participated in the bazaar, Sympathy Circle, and choir.

She is survived by her children Russ Holub, Diane Holub, and Sue (Dennis) Schlesner; grandchildren David (Jenna) Toennies, Sara (Brian) Vaughn, Amanda Schlesner, Kait (Jon) Shurr, and Dan Schlesner; and great-grandchildren Amelia Toennies, Grayson and Gracie Vaughn, and Ryan, Hailey, and Kylie Shurr.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Holub, and two grandchildren, Amy and Pat Toennies.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025, at St. Jerome Catholic Church 995 S. Silver Lake St. Oconomowoc. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. Dolores will be laid to rest in St. Jerome Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jerome Catholic Church or to AngelsGrace Hospice.

Her love, generosity, and faith will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
