Mary Lucy Weinkauf  (nee Anich)

Of Mukwonago, WI passed into Eternal Life on Wednesday July 2, 2025 at the age of 97.

Mary was a first generation American. She was born to Croatian immigrant parents, John and Lucy (nee Babich) Anich, in West Allis on December 17, 1927.

Wife of the late Charles Weinkauf.

Survived by her youngest sister, Diana (Joseph) Elwell.  Preceded in death by her siblings Joseph, who was 2 years of age at the time of his passing, and Joseph (Evelyn), Anton (Myralyn), Paul (Audrey), John (Carol), Louis (Jane), Michael (Dorothy) Anich, Anne (Jim) Wenzel, and Julia (Jack) Noble.

Mary is also lovingly survived by daughter Wendy (Guy) Kadau, son Kevin (Pat) Weinkauf, Patrick and Garrit Welch, and twenty-three kind and caring nieces and nephews and their families.

She attended St. James The Less Catholic Church from the age of two after her family moved to Highway I in the town of Mukwonago. She was a choir member for seventy years.

A 1946 graduate of Mukwonago High School, a member of John Movrich CFU Lodge 993, and a  Lifetime Member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 375.

Mary made numerous friends throughout her life who shared her love of bowling, golfing,  cardplaying, singing, and dancing. She had a fondness for watching the backyard birds and squirrels. She kept treats on hand for any dog who would visit, and food for the occasional stray cat. Mary was blessed to have the most wonderful neighbors during the sixty-five years she resided at her village of Mukwonago home.

Mary lived a faith-filled, extraordinary, ordinary, simple life with wit, humor, personality, and joy.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025 at St. James The Less Catholic Church (830 E. Veteran's Way, Mukwonago) from 10:00 AM until 11:45 AM.  The American Legion Auxillary will do a walk through at 11:45 AM.  The Funeral Mass will follow  at 12:00 NOON.  Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery in East Troy.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s name may be made to St. James The Less Catholic Church, Mukwonago American Legion Post 375, or the charity of your choice.
