I first met Frank in Tappan Junor High school in Detroit. We became fast friends and the friendship that has lasted for about 65 years. One of our favorite things to do was ride our bikes on Oakman Boulevard on a sunny Saturday. We would always stop for sum ice cream at this little place a few blocks from Mackenzie High School. Then we'd get back on our bikes and ride to the end of Oakman Boulevard. Sometimes we would disagree on certain subjects but that's normal in any family. I don't remember the year, but my family suggested that Frank , his brother Carl, and his mother join our church, Messiah Lutheran Church. The congregation was formed in 1896 and it celebrated their 100th year in 1996. My twin sister,Lenore, and I are the only ones left of the patriarchs and matriarchs. Our paternal grandfather and our maternal grandmother were in the first confirmation class at Messiah. The last time I saw Frank was after his mother died and he was in town to settle the affairs of his mom.He even had pictures of his family when his mother was young. I feel like I have lost a brother. I never really knew Frank's brother, Carl. It must have been awful for Frank to have his brother pass two weeks before his own passing. Now thy're in a place where there is no more sorrow and we will meet again somday.
