Sharon M. Raymond

Sharon Raymond passed away surrounded by her loved ones on May 3rd, 2025. She is survived by her loving husband Richard Raymond and children, Ardith (J.C.) Moore and Christopher Raymond. Beloved grandmother to Avery (Amy) Moore, Aidan (Allison) Moore, Amelia (Oswaldo) Moore, Aubrey (Charlie, boyfriend) Moore, and Lucas Raymond; great-grandmother to Owen and Clara Moore. Sister to Dale (Cindy) Dyko, Brian (Maureen) Dyko, and Mark (Colleen) Dyko. Predeceased in death by her parents Andrew and Shirley Dyko, brother Loren Dyko, and mother-in-law Evelyn Raymond.

Sharon grew up in Cleveland, OH and graduated from high school at Lourdes Academy in 1962. At 18, she met her husband, Richard, when he asked to help tie her roller skates during a night out at the roller rink in Youngstown, OH. They have been together ever since. After marrying, Richard and Sharon moved to Wisconsin to begin their lives together. After giving birth to their children, Ardith and Christopher, Sharon went back to school and graduated with her degree in Medical Technology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1984.

After working as a Medical Technologist for a few years, she began her career as a Disability Claims Analyst at Northwestern Mutual Life. She excelled there for 18 years before retiring to spend time with her family and travel. Sharon was a devoted mother and grandmother. Not only a steadfast pillar in her children’s lives, she also had a special ability to relate to her grandchildren on a personal level and was deeply involved in each of their lives. 

Sharon was an extraordinary woman with a multitude of interests and talents.

She was an avid reader and member of several book clubs, which fed her love for discussion and deep thought. Sharon also had numerous creative pursuits and enjoyed painting, drawing, and sewing. She was a dedicated patron of the arts. Sharon and Richard were season ticket holders and donors to the Milwaukee Repertory Theater. Sharon also shared a love for ballet with her daughter Ardith, and they attended Thursday night performances of the Milwaukee Ballet for over 30 years.

Sharon loved nature and the outdoors. She enjoyed hiking, camping, bird watching, and traveling widely throughout Wisconsin. Sharon also spent a great deal of time with Richard exploring the mountains and deserts of Arizona. After their son Christopher moved to Tucson, they traveled together to visit him and their grandson biyearly.

Sharon was dedicated to her church and community. She found a home at First Congregational Church of Wauwatosa, where she served on numerous committees and in many volunteer positions, as well as being involved in a variety of social groups. Her memorial service will be held at First Congregational Church on May 30th, 2025. Visitation starts at 1pm in the Nave. The memorial service begins at 2pm, immediately followed by a reception in the Lounge.
