Hauser, John James

After 4 courageous years of battling with lung cancer, John Hauser was called home on May 9, 2024. His final days were spent surrounded by loved ones and friends that John had touched during his life.

John was born on April 30, 1963 to Bernadette and Clarence Hauser in Hartford, Wisconsin, and grew up in Richfield Wisconsin on the family farm. John attended and graduated from Germantown High School in 1981.

John loved to watch an play baseball and softball, working on anything with an engine, woodworking, volunteering, gardening, coaching kids, as well as hunting and fishing. John was well know in Richfield as the guy who could fix anything. In his spare time, John enjoyed the game of golf.  He joined the oldtimer’s Wednesday league, and became a seasoned player.

Following in Clarence Hauser’s footsteps, John became a volunteer firefighter. He served on the Richfield Fire Department for 18 active and 5 honorary years. Two of John’s sons, Josh and James, have followed in their father’s footprints and became firefighters, which made John very proud.

John always stayed close to home and never left the family homestead, taking over the family farm when his father passed away. The farm has been in the family for 170 years.  After John’s farm injury, he was unable to continue farming, therefore, he had many careers throughout his life, but none brought him more joy than farming.

 In 1986 John met Karen Seeger who he had married in 1987 and had four loving boys. In 2014 John met Charlene Schneider and they married in July 2021.

John was a dedicated and loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend. He will be immensely missed by his family and friends.

John is survived by his loving wife Charlene, his sons Joshua (Melissa) Hauser, Jordan (Ashley) Hauser, James Hauser, Jonathon Hauser and step daughter Kelly Palmtag with grandchildren Coraline, Joshua, Lorelei, Weston, Maverick, Karissa, Adelyn and other nieces and nephews, his mother Bernadette Hauser, siblings Rich (Judy) Hauser, Chris (Bob) Piechura, Kathy (Eric) Schneider and Patty (Rod) Weiss.   

In lieu of flowers, memorials in John's name to St. Jude Memorial Fund would be greatly appreciated.

The Hauser family will greet friends on Tuesday May 21, 2024  at St. Gabriel Catholic Parish, 1200 ST. GABRIEL WAY, HUBERTUS, WI 53033, from 10am until Mass of Christian Burial is celebrated at 1pm. Procession to St. Huberts Cemetery to immediately follow the Mass.
