Greg passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at the age of 73. He was born on September 17, 1950, the son of the late Louie and Doreen Schneider. Beloved husband of Gail (nee Thierbach) for 41 years. Loving father of Derek and Drew. Further survived by other relatives and many friends.

Greg was the ultimate student. He graduated from Menomonee Falls High School in 1968 and went on to the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he earned his BS, MS and Ph.D in political science. He then obtained his law degree from Marquette University. His studies led him to his career as a State of Wisconsin Public Defender in the Juvenile Division of Milwaukee County for 27 years.

Aside from work, Greg enjoyed golf, sports, lake life on Okauchee Lake and travel. He spent endless hours on the practice range and enjoyed golfing at North Hills Country Club. He was an avid fan of the Badgers, Brewers, Bucks and, of course, the Packers.

Greg lived with Parkinson’s Disease for over 20 years with grace, dignity and perseverance to live life to its fullest. Special thanks to his many friends who offered help and a friendly hand as needed. Greg’s family is deeply indebted to his caregivers at the Mierow House at Azura Memory Care – Brookfield and from St. Croix Hospice for the wonderful care they provided.

Visitation will be on Thursday, May 2 from 11:30AM until time of Memorial Service at 1PM at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home – Menomonee Falls; N84 W17937 Menomonee Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Michal J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research are appreciated.
