In Loving Memory of Richard Sack (November 23, 1941 - April 19, 2024)

Richard Sack was born on November 23, 1941, to his loving parents Marvin and Olga Sack. He was welcomed into the world with open arms by his older brother Russel, and later by his younger siblings Tom and Jeanne. From a young age, Richard embodied a strong work ethic and forged many lasting friendships.

His life took a significant turn when he answered the call to serve his country. Rather than simply being drafted into the U.S. Army, Richard sought to serve alongside volunteers, leading him to join the United States Marine Corps. In the Marines, Richard exemplified bravery and compassion, aiding in disaster relief efforts and flying med-evac missions overseas. His valor earned him two Purple Hearts, and he rose to the rank of sergeant during his service.

Beyond his military duties, Richard had a passion for motorcycles, particularly riding with his fellow Marines. He played a pivotal role in establishing the local Leatherneck chapter, earning the affectionate nickname "Uncle Rich" from his comrades. Together, they dedicated themselves to charitable endeavors, supporting numerous causes and lending aid to communities in need.

Upon his return to civilian life, Richard's entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish Veteran's Auto Sales, where he cultivated lifelong friendships, including his cherished bond with Scott Hytry. Their friendship extended beyond the workplace, as they shared adventures in hunting, fishing, and co-owning a cabin in the serene wilderness of northern Wisconsin.

In 1998, Richard experienced a profound transformation when he learned he would become a father. Despite initial apprehension at the prospect of fatherhood at 57, the joy of anticipation eclipsed any doubts. The birth of his son, Zachary, brought immeasurable happiness, and Richard embraced his role as a loving father with boundless enthusiasm.

In his later years, Richard found solace in the tranquility of nature at his beloved cabin, relishing moments spent observing wildlife and cruising on his trike. His close relationship with his sister Jeanne was a source of constant companionship and support, marked by an unwavering bond of love and understanding.

Richard's enduring legacy is one of love, courage, and unwavering devotion to his family, friends, and community. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
