Rebecca L. "Becky" Bohdalik
February 8, 1978 - March 15, 2024

Rebecca “Becky” Lynne Bohdalik transitioned to a place of joy and love on March 15th, 2024 at the age of 46. Becky lived through 3 years of Rectal Cancer with fortitude, grace and a smile.

Becky is survived by her wife and partner Heather August, her step-son Benjamin August, her step-daughter Riley August and her mother and step father Renate and Bill Safford, as well as an incredible amount of relatives, friends and pets.

Becky overcame many adversities throughout her amazing life. From a young age she struggled with mental health conditions. She worked incredibly hard to work through them all throughout her life. Becky was also very thankful to have 20 years of sobriety as well as an amazing support network and family from that part of her life.

Out of school, Becky was proud to be an auto mechanic for several years. She had many jobs and interests over the years. She was a CNA, movie theater manager, and finally an Archery Instructor for kids. She also excelled as a student, graduating from UW Milwaukee with honors in creative writing.

One of the most important events in her life was being in roller derby. It allowed her to expand her interests and grow as a person. She continues to have a lifelong friendship with her past team mates.

Becky was preceded in transitioning by her sister Stephanie and her father John along with several close and important friends in her life.

We are very grateful for all of the doctors, nurses, and staff that cared for her across the many departments of Froedtert Hospital. You gave her as much life as possible, and for that she, and all of us are eternally grateful.

Becky loved the simple things in life; being outside with nature and the birds or playing games with the enthusiasm of a child. She spread joy, support, humor and love to everyone no matter where she was in life.

And she wants you to know that God was with her every step of the way.

She also wanted a joke included, so we will end with her favorite…

What did the fish say when it swam into the wall?

Damn!
