Albert J. "Mac" McMichael
May 24, 1937 - December 30, 2023

Albert “Mac” McMichael passed away peacefully Saturday, December 30, 2023 surrounded by his three children. He is survived by his son, Steve (Peggy) McMichael, daughter Connie (Rick) Greiber, and son Jeff McMichael. He was blessed by seven grandchildren - Matt, Brett, and Bryan McMichael, Lauren Leslie, Andrew Greiber, and Jett and Preston McMichael and three great grandchildren Luke, Sean and Noah Leslie.

He was preceded in death by his wife Carol, who was truly the love of his life to whom he was married 61 blissful years, his parents, John and Bernadette McMichael, and his brother John McMichael. He is also survived by his sisters, Carolyn Townsend, Shirley Redemeier and brother Jim McMichael.  Both Mac and Carol were known for having tons of friends and great parties, both tied to work and outside of it, living their lives to the fullest.

Albert prioritized his family, faith and friends and was extremely proud to serve six years in the army reserve and National Guard.  He was an avid and accomplished tennis player into his early 80s, played golf and loved fishing on Lake Michigan and living the “Lake Life” at his home on Lake Louise in Valparaiso, Indiana. His kids and grandkids loved visiting, especially every 4th of July, where the entire family would congregate for fun and festivities at what they called “Camp Valpo”.  Another hobby he excelled at was financial investing and he even developed his own “redneck algorithm” in retirement, which helped him determine the best time to buy and sell stocks.  Finally, Mac was a great story teller, whether it was with his friends or grandkids – you could always count on him to keep things fun and interesting.

With the support of his wife, he also enjoyed a very successful Sales and Marketing career with his first long-time employer SC Johnson and Sons which brought him from Cincinnati, OH to Racine, WI in the early 1970s. In 1984 he moved the family to Valparaiso, IN for a new position at Morton International, where he finished his career as Vice President of Sales and Marketing specializing in the Polymer business until his retirement in 1996.

The visitation for Albert will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024, from 9:30AM until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM, at the Saint Boniface Catholic Church, W204 N11940 Goldendale Rd., Germantown, WI 53022. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Albert’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association are appreciated.

Our family would like to thank the staff of Grace Commons and Brighton Hospice in Menomonee Falls, WI for the great care they gave to Dad during his year and a half at their facility.
