Leo Thomas Crivello
March 19, 1929 - November 26, 2023

Leo Thomas Crivello, age 94, passed into eternal life on November 25, 2023 at the Milwaukee Catholic Home, after a rich and long life. He joins his beloved wife of 63 years, Rosie, who passed away in 2013. He is survived by his four children and their spouses: Mike (Marian), Maryann (Jerry) Huth, Joe (Melinda), and Gerry (Chris) Steele. His memory will be treasured by his grandchildren and their spouses: Nick (Lina) Crivello, Jessica (Ryan) Marston, Mike (Holly) Huth, Karl (Colleen) Huth, Katherine (Luke) Howard, Aubrey (Jenna) Williams, Rosie Crivello, Leo Crivello, Max Steele, and Maddy Steele; and his great-grandchildren, Lucy, Vivian, Emerson, Carson, Finn, Ben, and Ryals. He will be missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, especially those friends he enjoyed as a resident of the Milwaukee Catholic Home over the last ten years.

Leo was born on March 19, 1929 to Mariano (Mike) and Maryanna Crivello on Jackson Street in Milwaukee's Third Ward. He was the eldest of four and cared deeply for his three younger sisters: Sally, Rosie, and Maryann.  As a boy, he loved playing sports—baseball, football, and basketball—and as an adult, he played softball into his 70's. Quarterback on the football team his senior year, Leo graduated from Lincoln High School.  After high school and his marriage to Rosie, he worked briefly at Blatz Brewery and then began a long career at First Federal Savings and Loan (First Savings) where he became a vice-president, managing offices on Milwaukee's west side and in Whitefish Bay.  He and his family were long-time members of St. Monica's Parish where he sang in the St. Monica Choir.

Leo is remembered for his generous volunteer service for the North Shore Kiwanis Club and the Knights of Columbus.  While living at the Milwaukee Catholic Home, he was involved in many activities, serving as a volunteer for the annual Padre Serra basketball tournament, mentoring grade school children through the Intergenerational Education Program, and singing in the choir.

Leading an active life into his 90's, Leo loved to vacation with his wife and family, play golf, watch sports, sing, draw, paint, and help family and friends with any project they had. He drew special joy from spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Milwaukee Catholic Home, and St. Camillus Hospice for their compassionate care and support.

A visitation will be held at the Milwaukee Catholic Home, 2462 N. Prospect Ave. on Saturday, December 9, beginning at 10:00 AM and followed at 11:00 AM by the Mass of Christian Burial. A reception will be held at the Milwaukee Catholic Home immediately following the mass. Private family interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations in Leo's name to either of these charities: Boys and Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee or the Italian Community Center of Milwaukee.
