June Ellen Carlson (nee Farchminn)
September 4, 1931 - February 1, 2023

Of  Wauwatosa, WI passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 with family by her side.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Carlson, and parents, Emil and Geraldine Farchminn.  June is survived by her sister, Eileen Meinecke (Bill), daughters Gail Carlson (Paul Curran) and Lynn Carlson (Lisa Rouskey), her four grandchildren, Mark, Donna, Olivia and Zoe, and loving companion, Richard Luedtke.

June was born to Emil and Geraldine on September 4, 1931 in Wauwatosa, WI.  She attended Wauwatosa schools and graduated from Wauwatosa High School in 1950.  She was awarded a scholarship to attend Trafalgar Art School in New York City.  After graduation, June worked as a fashion designer at Junior House (JH Collectibles).

While in the voting line at Wilson school in 1960, she met Donald Carlson.  They married in December 1961 and had two daughters, Gail and Lynn. They enjoyed traveling the world, skiing in Colorado and long family bike trips with SAGBRAW until his unexpected passing in 1998.

June then spent her time traveling with her sister, Eileen, taking trips to Ireland and Disney World with family, and being a loving grandmother to her four grandchildren.  June also enjoyed her walking group, her “lunch bunch” get togethers with high school friends, working out in the garden, and visiting with the neighbors on Red Arrow Ct.  She was a talented artist and musician and was always entertaining others.

In 2010, at her 60th High School reunion, June found love again when she reunited with Richard Luedtke.  They spent the last 12 years hosting dinner parties, ballroom dancing, attending concerts, and taking long walks together.  As members of the Vagabond Social group, they enjoyed skiing in Austria, cruises on the Queen Mary, touring Australia, and exploring New York City.  Her last trip was to Disney World with Richard and Lynn in February 2020.  Richard was a loving partner and caregiver while June struggled with her dementia.

June lived a full life and was lucky to have never had a health problem.  She never had an ailment that couldn’t be cured with a glass of cream sherry, a lot of olive oil, asparagus, and an iron frying pan.  She will be missed by many.  A special thank you to her friends at Lakewood Memory Care and Gentiva Hospice Care for their love and support.

Visitation with the family will take place on Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 10 AM until 12 PM at Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home, 10121 W. North Ave., Wauwatosa.  Private interment in the Wauwatosa Cemetery.
