Gail Kersten
December 16, 1954 - January 31, 2023

Gail Dianne Kersten, 68 years, of Waukesha, Wisconsin, was born to eternal life January 31st, 2023, with loved ones at her side at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. Gail spent her childhood and school years in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, graduating from Oconomowoc High school in 1973. She spent many of those years participating in baton competitions and achieved a state championship.

Gail was born December 16th, 1954, to Christian (Chris) and Anabelle (Ann) Ginder, a painter, and homemaker, in Watertown, Wisconsin. Gail was the youngest of 3 children.

Gail was blessed with five children; Melissa, Paul (Megan), James, Abigail (Todd), and Jonathan. She was a loving and caring grandma to Mason, Easton, and Levi. She is also survived by her sister Carol Haines. Preceded by her parents and her brother, Jon Ginder.

Gail was an avid gardener and lover of warm weather and sunshine. With her passion for gardening, she owned and operated a plant nursery, Garden to Go, for 16 years. While managing her plant nursery, she also home-schooled her five children. Gail was also a big football fan, cheering on her two favorite NFL teams, the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers. On warm Saturday afternoons, she would love to attend the local farmers' markets to pick up produce and fresh-cut Gladiolas (and, of course, squeaky cheese curds).

Memorial service celebrating Gail’s life, as a mother, grandmother, sister, and great friend, for everyone will be held at 1pm on Saturday February 4, 2023 at Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home 121 S. Cross St. Oconomowoc. Friends may visit from 1-2pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested for the UW- Department of Horticulture funds.  https://secure.supportuw.org/give/?id=82eb67bc-7ea3-48c0-9994-a753214d8cb9
