JoNell (Klawitter) MacCoy passed away peacefully on January 26, 2023 at her home in Mukwonago, Wisconsin.

JoNell answered to many names…Mom, Nellie, Jo Mama, JoJo, Nell, Gramma Jo, GG. No matter who she was to you, she was truly one in a million - OriJoNell through and through.

She was a strong, independent woman. A faithful follower of Christ that loved the Lord deeply. JoNell was an active member of AGLOW and joyfully gave her time and many talents to family, friends, and the community in every way imaginable. She enriched and touched the lives of so many. Her kindness was genuine and her generosity came straight from the heart. JoNell made many incredible friends and had a unique way of letting them know just how special they are. She was intentionally selfless. Her sense of humor, sparkling smile, contagious laughter, and bubbly personality were enjoyed and admired by all.

JoNell was born on April 29, 1949 to Kenneth and Mabel (Longard) Klawitter in Oconto Falls, Wisconsin. She attended grade school at St. Paul’s Lutheran and graduated from West Allis Central High School. While raising her family, she worked in manufacturing, including Briggs & Stratton, General Electric, Hotpoint, and Harley-Davidson from where she took early retirement to enjoy life with her grandchildren.

JoNell is survived by her daughters: Angela (Adam) Brown of West Bend; Kristie MacCoy of West Allis; and Kelly (James) Beard of Mukwonago. She is further survived by her grandchildren: Jordan Brown, Joshua (Amanda) Brown, Hayley Brown, Spencer Beard, and Samantha Beard; great grandchild, Lillian; and siblings (Jean) Klawitter of New Berlin; Carol (Charles) Korn of Wisconsin Rapids; Michael Klawitter of New Berlin; Jeanne David of Hartland; Linda Clark of Superior; and Mark (Lori) Klawitter of New Berlin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Mabel Klawitter; brother, Reginald Klawitter; and brother-in-law, James David.

Family and friends are invited to join as we celebrate JoNell's life. Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Vernon Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mukwonago. Pastor John Anderson will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday at the church. Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.
