Mariane L. Wheeler, 65, passed away on October 1, 2022.

Mariane was a horticulturalist, an outdoorswoman, an avid reader, and an excellent baker, cook, and craftswoman. She was a beloved grandmother, mother, sister, daughter, and friend. Many will remember her as one who never hesitated to cook for those needing comfort. 

In the 1990s, Mariane decided to turn her lifelong green thumb into a professional career and enrolled in the horticulture program at MATC. As an employee of Sacred Heart Seminary, she had a gift for flower arrangements, and plants simply grew under her care. Adventurous and independent, Mariane also had a gift for fun, for creating adventures with her beloved granddaughters, Ava, Sonja, and Una.

She is survived by her daughter, Tanina Andres and her three granddaughters as well as her father, Jerry, sisters, Therese, Nance, and Monica and brother, Jim and their families. Mariane was preceded in death by her mother, Susan Astrin and her sister, Margo Jones. Her warmth and
generosity will be greatly missed.

A celebration of Mariane’s life will be held at a later date.
