Marilyn I. Schneider
July 26, 1942 - October 2, 2022

Marilyn I. Schneider (née Houston), 80, of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, passed away in the early hours of October 2, 2022, after a brief hospital stay. Born on July 26, 1942, to Walden and Dorothy Houston, she was the youngest of three children growing up in Wauwatosa where she attended Tosa East High School. Marilyn worked for Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls and the City of Brookfield Police Department from which she retired. Marilyn volunteered as a poll worker and for the Menomonee Falls Historical Society for 15 years, a passion that she thoroughly enjoyed.

Marilyn was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, who will be missed deeply. Marilyn is survived by her husband Gene Schneider whom she married on October 23, 1981. Marilyn and Gene did everything together and enjoyed traveling, making numerous trips to Europe and Door County. Skiing in the Upper Peninsula, biking trips throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota, antique shopping, and golf were also favored activities that they enjoyed together. A special treat for both of them was a trip to the State Fair for their birthdays. They enjoyed eating out and socializing and wherever they went they had friends. Marilyn always made people feel welcome and included and put others before herself and her needs. She had a great sense of humor and we will all truly miss laughing with her.

Beloved wife of Gene Schneider. Loving mother to Deborah Skocir, Susan (Michael) Pretti, Andrew Bolda, and Christopher (Angela) Bolda. Marilyn’s grandchildren include Emilie (Shaun) Murphy, Cameron and Drew Pellmann, Alex (Rachel) Pretti, Micayla Pretti, Hannah (Anthony) Schoenfeld, and Joseph Bolda. She is further survived by her sister, Susan (Tom) Erke, sister-in-law, Karen (Don) Center, her cherished nieces, nephews, and other family.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, brother John Houston, step-daughter Jennifer Shattuck, and her darling son, Jeffery Bolda.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Froedtert Hospital of Menomonee Falls for the care Marilyn received, and special thanks to Terry Marcou from Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Services for assisting the family.
