Of Mukwonago. Born to Eternal Life on December 15, 2021 at the age of 70. Don is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Maxine "Max". Loving father of Matthew Thompson, Rebecca (Jose') Palacios, Kristin (Rev. Clark) Schultz, Nathan (Christina) Thompson, and Shawna (Michael) Krienitz. Proud and loving grandpa of Paul, Elliot, and Grace Thompson; Zair, Nain, Sinai, Aquila, Jael, and Jairo Palacios; Ian, Lincoln, and Nolan Schultz; Mathilda Thompson; Reagan, and Jaxon Kreinitz. Beloved brother of Patricia (the late Steven) Wiedmer, The Reverend Dr. Glen (Beth) Thompson, Bonnie (David) Nommensen, and Lori (James) Unke. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Pastor Thompson graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in May, 1977 and was ordained into the Holy Ministry in July of the same year. He shepherded congregations/students at Holy Scripture Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne, IN;  Our Shepherd LC, Crown Point, IN; Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School, Jackson, WI; St.Matthew LC, Port Washington, WI; and Shepherd of the Palms, Jupiter, FL. He also served part time at Christ LC, Pewaukee, WI; The Point of Grace Campus Ministry (TPOG); and St. John’s LC, Mukwonago, WI.

Visitation on Thursday December 23, 2021 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church (410 W. Veteran's Way, Mukwonago) from 9:30AM until the time of Funeral Service at 12:00PM (noon).
