Franklin J. Wolf
March 24, 1936 - October 19, 2021

Frank was born March 24, 1936 in Benson, Illinois to Frank and Edith Wolf.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years Sally (Beenders) and three children Laurie (Gary) Plotkin, Jerry Wolf and Jeff (Corey) Wolf.

Frank was also proud Grandpa of Matt Wolf, Nick Wolf, Sam Wolf, Emma Wolf and Cal Wolf.

Frank is survived by his Sister Marsha (Gehl) Caldwell.  He was proceeded in death by his brothers Ed Wolf and Bill Wolf and sister Barb (Dean) Weber.

Frank remembered growing up in Benson with great fondness.  Time spent with his parents, brothers, sisters and extended family were among his happiest memories.  He shared stories from these days with much joy and laughter.

After high school, Frank attended Eastern Illinois University in Charlseton, IL.  Frank was a stand out athlete in both baseball and basketball.  He was one of only two people to have been voted both Captain and MVP in two different sports.  Frank was inducted into Eastern’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 1993.   His time at Eastern was cherished.  He especially enjoyed the year that both of his brothers were on the basketball team with him.  He also remembered with fondness looking in the stands and seeing his parents and sisters who had traveled to watch him play.  Frank made life long friends during his time at Eastern.

In 1961 Frank and Sally moved to Wisconsin so Frank could take a teaching and coaching job at Nicolet High School in Glendale, WI.   He taught in the business department and coached basketball, baseball and football.  After many years of teaching and coaching, Frank became both the Athletic Director and Business Manager at Nicolet.  During his time at Nicolet, Frank touched many lives.  He maintained relationships with former fellow teachers, coaches, students and athletes.   These are relationships and times that he treasured.  Many former students and players have reached out since Frank’s passing to share memories and express their gratitude for his impact on their lives.   Frank was inducted in into Nicolet’s Athletic Hall of Fame in their inaugural class 2010.

Frank had many interests.  He loved spending time at his cottage on Little Green Lake.  He loved fishing, hunting, golfing and playing cards.  He loved watching sports and was a life long NY Yankees fan.  He enjoyed all of these activities most when he was sharing them with others.  This includes not only Sally, his kids and grandkids, but also his friends, siblings and many nephews and nieces that he adored.  The role Frank loved so much and took much joy in was being a grandpa.  Nothing gave him more joy than watching Matt or Nick play baseball.  Watching Sam and Emma play basketball.  Fishing with Cal or taking him to McDonalds.  He loved driving them to school or just hanging out and sharing a story or two.  These five brought him so much joy.

Frank was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Thiensville.  He was active on different committees and out reaches there.

Over the past few years Frank has been battling dementia and failing health.  Sally was his heroic and constant care taker.  We will never be able to express to her our gratitude for what was an extremely difficult time.  Her care of him allowed him to remain in his home, a place he loved so much.

There will be a visitation on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Grace Lutheran Church, 303 Green Bay Road, Thiensville from 10 AM until the time of Memorial service at 12 Noon.  In lieu of flowers, if interested memorials to
