Dave was called to the Fairway of Heaven on October 4, 2021 at the age of 67. Beloved husband of Therese (nee Nell) for 42 years, proud dad of Danielle (Nick), Jessica (Bryan), and Kristin (Mike), and enthusiastic Papa Dude of Sawyer, Quinn, and Paxton Ernster, Harper and Everett Mullins, and Colton, Blake, and Luella Reeves.
For Dave, family was the most important part of his life. His time was spent traveling with his wife and daughters, hunting with his sons-in-law, and always finding a reason to hang out with his grandchildren. When he was not spending time with his family he was with his many friends. Whether it be on the golf course, in a bar, at a sporting event, or on a fishing boat, he was always embracing life.
He was generous to all who knew him, constantly willing to help anyone who needed him.
Through his many years working in the food industry he gained a multitude of friends who enriched his life.
Dave and his family truly appreciate the love everyone has shown and continues to show. Every call, text, or act of support has touched our lives.
Dave truly loved life, and even after his diagnosis he remained positive and continued to live his life to the fullest.
He is survived by his brother Kevin (Jeanne) and sister Karen, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a wealth of friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Bob, mother Jane, and sisters Nancy (Gary) and Roberta (Richard).
There are not enough words to say just how much he meant to everyone and just how missed he will be. He touched so many lives and will never, ever be forgotten. He was ONE STRONG DUDE.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021 at North Shore Congregational Church, 7330 N Santa Monica Blvd, Fox Point, from 3:00 pm - 5:45 pm, with a service to follow at 6:00 pm.
Per Dave’s request, a PARTY will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at North Shore County Club, 3100 W County Club Drive, Mequon, at 5:00 pm. Dave wanted to see everyone in their favorite golf attire. All are welcome to join the family at the country club.
Dave’s wish was for an annual ONE STRONG DUDE golf outing to be held in his memory. Each year proceeds for this event will be given to a deserving recipient. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations for the inaugural event, to be held in 2022.
