David Lee Peter

September 6, 1965 – September 15, 2021

David went to his Eternal Home on September 15th, 2021 following a decade long battle with heart and kidney issues.

He was born on September 6, 1965 in Milwaukee to LeDale and Donna Peter.

David had an incredible work ethic dating back to his early teen years when he would spend the summers by his uncle Dennis in Rhine Center, WI helping on the farm.  David graduated from Vincent High School in 1983.  He was a dedicated worker for Doug Rohde Grading, Inc. where he worked dutifully for 32 years until his health no longer allowed it.  Dave was a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers.

On May 12, 1990, he married Anna Peter (nee Oettinger) and they enjoyed 31 years of marriage together.

David was a kind and generous soul who loved his family.  In his younger years, he bought a speedboat and enjoyed taking family and friends out for wild rides and water skiing.  After they were married, Dave and Anna enjoyed many camping weekends with family and friends; even when it snowed on Memorial Day weekend.  He had an uncanny ability to make a roomful of people laugh out loud; his sense of humor was like no other.  David was a well-informed citizen who cared deeply about his community and his country. Perhaps his greatest joy these last 2 years was becoming a grandfather to “his girl”, Brailynn.

David will be dearly missed by his wife Anna; sons Steven (Debra) Courtion, Jacque (Andrea) Courtion and David Peter Jr.; granddaughter Brailynn Courtion; mother Donna Peter; sisters Denise (Rob) Learned and Debbie (Tom) Rosenfeldt; sister in law Linda (John) Fortino.  Dave was also a beloved uncle and great-uncle to many nieces and nephews.  He is further survived by several aunts, an uncle, lots of cousins and wonderful friends.

After picking up his dog Taz at the Rainbow Bridge, Dave was greeted in Heaven by his father, LeDale Peter;  in-laws Edwin and Carol Oettinger; nephew Anthony Fortino; grandparents Arno and Marie Peter and Harvey and Irene Leonard.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 28th at Bethlehem Ev. Lutheran Church N84W15252 Menomonee Ave, Menomonee Falls from 10:30am until time of service at 12 noon.

Entombment to follow at Wisconsin Memorial Park 13235 W Capitol Dr, Brookfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the church or the National Kidney Foundation of WI in his name are appreciated.  https://www.kidneywi.org/donate/
