Lavern A. Schuster
November 6, 1943 - August 7, 2021

Age 77, passed away peacefully at home on August 7, 2021. He was born to Raymond and Eleanor Schuster on November 6, 1943. After learning to speak English in school having been raised with his German great-grandmother, he took on the family farm at the age of 16. A proud farmer, avid softball and dartball player, and snowmobile enthusiast, Lavern was a very active and social soul. A hard working, and some might say stubborn German, Lavern was a true competitor at heart, and to his delight, was able to win the love of his life when he met his wife, Shirley Lorraine Aulenbacher and married in 1970. Together they enjoyed building a family, spending time with family and friends, playing softball together, gardening, and traveling across the country. He would refer to it as “Roaming the Countryside” and upon their return would always say, “It was a nice place to visit, but it is good to be home.”

Eternally proud of his daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren for all of their many accomplishments, he enjoyed spending hours at their events. Celebrating over 50 years of marriage, Lavern is survived by his wife Shirley, 2 daughters and sons-in-law (Dave and Tracy Larson and Ryan and Heidi Katte) 5 grandchildren (Chance, Grace, Jocelyn, Ainsley and Madeline), and siblings (Paul and Judy Schuster, Ronald and Cheryl Pechstein and Otto and Kathy Zurbuchen). A heart transplant recipient, he was blessed with 14 additional years with family and friends, and in lieu of flowers, please send memorials to St. Luke’s Hospital.

Visitation at FUNERAL HOME in Menomonee Falls Thursday, August 12 from 4:00 PM until the celebration of life at 7:00 PM. Private interment at St. Jacobi Congregational Church Cemetery in Richfield, WI.
