David A. Mann

January 16, 1960 - May 10, 2021

David Mann, age 61, passed away on Monday, May 10th, after a two year battle with cancer. Like he swore from the beginning, he did his best to not let his cancer change his lifestyle. He passed peacefully in hospice after using his German stubbornness to bring his daughters and girlfriend together for some quality time. David always tried to protect his daughters and did so even in his dying moments, waiting for them to step away for a break before letting go.

David was the proud father of daughters Jessica (husband Andrew) and Jenna (partner Christina). He was also survived by his gracious, loving partner to the end Patricia Ebergeny. He was "gmm-pa" to Reed (Jessica and Andrew) and several fur-grandchildren. He will always be the "Tiny Tornado" to his surviving siblings Otis, Carole, and Sharon (husband Björn). Uncle to Augie (wife Carolyn, and children Jack, Julia, Laura), James, Cindy (mother to Crystal, Melissa), Sigrid (husband Naveen, daughter Annika), Ingrid, and many more. David was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Mildred Mann, and brother Dennis Mann.

In life, David was known for his love of family, the outdoors, dogs, dad jokes, and Star Wars -- in no particular order! He could frequently be found finding, starting, and sometimes finishing, any number of projects around his house or yard, including his annual prairie burn.

Burial and service for family and friends will be Saturday, May 22nd at 10:00am at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield, WI. The graveside service will be outdoors regardless of weather and there will be a vehicle procession to site. Streaming information to come. Family Remembrance via Zoom on Saturday May 29th at 12:00pm CT. Donations can be made in his memory to Friends of Retzer Nature Center.
