Dennis L. Barnes, 73 of Sussex, WI, passed away at his home on November 20, 2020. Dennis was born in St. Louis, MO. In his early years, he spent much of his time with his grandma, Josephine Omohundro, whom he loved dearly.

 

He attended high school in Paullina, IA & studied at NBT. He met his wife, Janice while they both studied there. They were married for 48 years and together they had 2 children, Kelly & Patrick. 

 

Dennis loved hunting and fishing. He spent many years shooting trap, most recently at the Menomonee Falls Rod & Gun Club. Always having a love for the outdoors, he enjoyed camping and taking his boat out on the lake. Dennis also enjoyed his time in the kitchen making his salsa and fish fries as well as using his smoker to make summer sausage and jerky.

 

Dennis worked at Briggs & Stratton and Wisconsin Centrifugal where he was a CNC machinist before retiring.

 

Dennis is survived by his wife Janice, daughter Kelly (Shannon) Sells, granddaughters Sarah and Bethany Wojciechowski, mother-in-law Ruth Tewes, as well as many other family and friends. He was proceeded in death by his son Patrick Barnes, mother Dorothy Barnes, father-in-law Delmar Tewes, and sister-in-laws Mary & Linda.
