Of Waukesha. Passed away peacefully on July 1, 2020 at the age of 93. Preceded in death by his wife Gwendolyn and his son Donald. Loving father of Sandra (Julio) Martinez. Proud grandpa of Cassandra, Brittany, Stephanie, and Hailey. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Dewey served in the Army during World War II, was a member of the Waukesha VFW and Mukwonago American Legion Post. Dewey was a free and accepted Mason of the Waukesha Lodge 37. He enjoyed participating as a member of the Tripoli Shriner’s and rode on the long bike in many parades.
Dewey was a physical education teacher in Sussex Hamilton School District. His love for physical fitness stayed with him his entire life, as he was often seen at the YMCA in Mukwonago ‘pumping iron’ with the best of them up until a few months ago. Dewey loved to travel and spent time out in California and his home in Wisconsin. Dewey spent most of his free time with his family and grand-daughters, cheering them on with all their activities.
Visitation at the Funeral Home (930 Main St., Mukwonago) on Monday July 6, 2020 from 6:00PM until the time of Funeral Service at 7:00PM. Private Burial at Roselawn Memorial Park in Monona.
