Marlene K. Steltz (nee Burch)

Of Mukwonago, was called home to her Lord and Savior on June 29, 2020 at the age of 84.  She is the loving mother of Daniel (Debbie) Steltz, Kim (Mark) Herzer, and David (Jody) Steltz; proud grandmother of Jamie (Steve) Biggins, Joseph Haseltine, Jason (Tiffany) Herzer, Nathan (Ashley) Steltz, Jonathan Herzer, Lindsey (Redd) Fritch, Jenna (Mike) Beaver, and Jessica (Kyle) Beaumont; great-grandmother of 19 cuties ranging in age from 23 yrs. to 10 months.  She is further survived by her sister-in-law Carol Burch, cousins Donna Ferency and Eugene (Janis) Franks.  Also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Gladys (nee Cartwright) Burch, sisters Gloria (George) Powell, Patricia (Melvin) Salbacka; brothers Ronald (Dolores) Burch and Robert Burch, brother-in-law Stanley Crowbridge, sister-in-laws Dorothy Burch, and Beverly Ayers, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Donald and Lillian Steltz, nephews Terry Burch, and Michael Ayers, nieces Cheryl Plichta, and Jill Gudex; in-laws Robert and Josephine Warnimont, and Arthur and Edna Steltz; husband Eugene Warnimont and previous spouse, James Steltz (father of Dan, Kim, and David) who remained a close, and loving friend to Marlene.

Marlene was a housewife and mother.  She loved her family very much.  She brought up her children to love the Lord.  She attended Catholic Mass every week.  She sent her children to St. Pius X Catholic school also. Her younger son David has a fond memory of Marlene: his Mom teaching him how to drive up and down the alley in Wauwatosa.  The family lived on 75th and Marlene's parents, lived on 70th Street.  So, David and Mom would drive up and down the alley from the family home to Grandma's house.  Marlene did not like driving at all. Driving on the road made her anxious but she had to help her son so she did the best that she could.

Another memory (from Danny her older son) is when Dan was stationed in Germany with the Army, Marlene would write to him everyday.  It took 10 days to receive mail, but Marlene made sure her older son, Dan received lots of letters keeping him informed; letting him know his Mom missed him; sending him chocolate chip cookies; and letting him know he was loved back home.

Daughter Kim remembers Mom always being a phone call away.  Many, many times Mom would help with babysitting grandchildren when babysitters were sick, or in-between babysitters.  Kim knew that Mom would keep her children safe, fed, happy, and entertained for as many days as she needed help.  Marlene was very supportive of all her children's passions, careers, and life choices.  She was a terrific, loving, beautiful Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother.

The family is kindly requesting that all family and friends wear a protective face mask due to Covid-19.  Also, please practice social distancing.  If you do not have a mask we will provide you with one. Thank you.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home in Mukwonago from 2 PM until the time of the Memorial Service at 3 PM.
