Donald J. Lucas
April 3, 1951 - May 13, 2019
        

Donald James Lucas, 68, passed away May 13, 2019 at his home in Saukville, Wisconsin after a long battle fighting diabetes.

On June 1, a visitation will be held at Lumen Christi Parish in Mequon, Wisconsin at 10:00 AM followed by the funeral service and Mass at 11:00 AM. 

Don was born on April 3, 1951 in Willoughby, Ohio to the late Edward and Helen Lucas. He received his bachelor and master’s degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio in 1972.  He loved and enjoyed his career of 30+ years in pharmaceutical sales and marketing. He retired in August, 2017. 

On June 30, 1973, he married Kris (Brainard) Lucas. They raised their three children: Matthew born in Springfield, IL; Lisa and Renee born in Hillsborough, NJ.  In July, 1991, Don’s career moved the family to Mequon, Wisconsin.  He was very active with the Homestead High School Booster’s Club and Lumen Christi Parish. Don enjoyed many sporting activities especially golf, fishing, and watching both basketball and football. Don will be remembered as someone that was full of life, loved spending time with his family and friends, loved music, and the holidays. 

Don is survived by his wife, three children, and five grandchildren: Lucas Tanner, Caden Tanner, Tatem Tanner, Eleanore Lucas, and Sarah Lucas. Don was one of nine children. His sister Margie (Dennis Frisbie) passed in 2014. He is also survived by his siblings and their spouses: Al Lucas, Ed and Linda Lucas, Kathy and Tom Wilson, Jan and Pat Schaffer, Tom and Nancy Lucas, Gayle and Bill Custer, and Laurel Lucas.  He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews. 

The family suggests any donations be made to American Diabetes Association.
