Sandra J. Zillmer
June 28, 1948 - February 20, 2019

Sandra Jean Zillmer, age 70, passed away peacefully at her home in Oconomowoc on Wednesday, February 20, 2019. She was born on June 28, 1948 to James and Alice Stocks. Sandy was a 1966 graduate of Oconomowoc High School. On October 4, 1969, she married her high school sweetheart, Thomas Zillmer. She worked as a bank teller at Waukesha State Bank before becoming a stay-at-home mom to their two daughters. Sandy was always a willing volunteer, whether she was monitoring the school lunch room, chaperoning a field trip, leading her daughter's girl scout troop, or sewing quilts for sick children with Project Linus. She was very involved in her church, school, and community, serving on the school board and singing in the church choir. She always enjoyed working with people, so when Sandy returned to work it was no surprise when she chose customer service; first working retail at Sherper's in Oconomowoc, later as a medical assistant for Dr. Jack Hutter. Among her special interests and hobbies were cooking, baking, sewing, and bowling. She spent 30 years as a member of the Early Tuesday Morning Busy Bees bowling team. She was a doting grandmother, always eager to spend quality time with her grandchildren and guaranteed to cheer them on at any school or extracurricular events. Sandy was never one to mince words, and will be fondly remembered for her feisty spirit.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years, Tom; daughters Andrea (Jeff) Scaife and Megan (Dominick) Trevorrow; 5 grandchildren: Zanon, Sophia, Jase, Emma, and Spencer; 8 siblings: Edward (Ellen) Stocks, Marion (Richard) Davies, Charlotte Pladies, Gene (Miriam) Stocks, Fran (Brenda) Stocks, Ron (Sally) Stocks, Charles (Eileen) Stocks, Marilyn (David) Sherman; brother-in-law Daniel Zillmer; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws Robert and Eileen Zillmer, brother Larry Stocks, brother-in-law Walter Pladies, and sister-in-laws Kari Zillmer and Bonnie Stocks.

Visitation will be held at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home, 121 S Cross St, Oconomowoc on Sunday, March 3, 2019 from 1-4 pm, memorial service to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Sandy's name to Project Linus or St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Oconomowoc.
