Donald Bohentin, Jr.
May 9, 1953 - February 11, 2019

Finally found peace in the comfort of his home with his wife, Lynn, and brother, Mark, by his side.  At the age of 65, he lived years longer than his doctors had predicted and fought his cancer bravely and stoically.

Lovingly nicknamed “Dirty Don”, he was the life of the party and could be counted on to make everyone laugh with his jokes and quick wit.  Don loved to create and build things - from legos and model cars to actual cars. He was a collector of many things and fixer of almost anything.

Don met the love of his life and wife of 34 years, Lynn, through their jobs and the rest is history.   They were a classic case of opposites attract and loved to just be together while also respecting each other’s independence and interests.

He was the dear son of Donald and the late Sharon.  He will be greatly missed by his brother, Mark (Karen) and will be reunited with his brother, Bruce, who passed away in June of 2017.  Don also enjoyed spending time with Lynn’s family - her parents, the late Bill and Virginia, and her siblings, Holly, David (Heidi), Jeanne (Mark), and LeAnne (Curtis).

Don was known as “Uncle Fun” and was proud of all of his nieces and nephews - Jason, Julie, Johnny, Alex, Brett, Sam, Sarah, Colton and Colby.

Some of Don’s favorite times were those spent with his many different groups of friends.  Through the years, he enjoyed riding his Harley, playing volleyball, hanging out at his favorite restaurants, being a partner in his own restaurant (Barry’s Place), weekend getaways at “The Cottage”, and tooling around in his “Man Garage’’.

Rocky and Trixie, Don and Lynn’s dogs will miss having their daddy around.

Don’s wife and family would like to express their eternal gratitude to Betty from Aurora Hospice for not only making Don comfortable, but for providing honesty and empathy throughout the last several weeks.   A special thank you also goes to Dr. Johnson, Dr. Zukowski, Dr. Sharma and Dr. Shaunta for their care and expertise.

Visitation will be held at the Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home in Menomonee Falls on Saturday, February 23 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM with a time of sharing to follow.
