Victoria Krause Mayer
December 27, 1938 - November 6, 2018
        

Age 78, passed away on November 6, 2018. She is survived by her daughter, Amalie (Amie) Mayer Sabatini and granddaughter, Heidi Sabatini of Kitty Hawk, NC., sister Carol Krause Wythes (Richard), sister-in-law, Roslyn Stearns Krause (Charles). Her parents were Charles A. Krause, Jr. and Eleanor Krause Sullivan (Turek). Vicki  focused on family life including many cousins, her nieces and nephews, their children and grand and great grandchildren.

She graduated from Milwaukee Downer Seminary and went on to enjoy spending a year studying in Florence, Italy. Upon returning to Milwaukee, she worked for the family business, the Krause Milling Company. In 1960 she married Phillip B. Mayer.  After her divorce, she moved to McLean, VA where she spent more than 30 years, moving back to Milwaukee two years ago. Vicki’s unique generosity centered on her extended family and included a passionate interest in preservation of wildlife, including endangered species, and aiding the lives of at-risk children, both nationally and internationally.  In Milwaukee, she was a director of the Krause Family Foundation. Vicki enjoyed and supported the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and Kids from Wisconsin as well as the Wisconsin Humane Society.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, 7845 N. River Road, River Hills, WI at 2:00 pm on December 27, 2018. She will be greatly missed by so many. In lieu of flowers, please consider gifts to the Wisconsin Humane Society, Milwaukee, or the International Crane Foundation in Baraboo, Wisconsin.
