Lloyd Henry Wiskerchen
May 27, 1932 - October 8, 2018

Passed away peacefully on Monday October 8, 2018 at the age of 86. Survivors include four children, Thomas Wiskerchen of slinger, Karen Wiskerchen of Arizona, MaryAnn Wiskerchen of Indiana and Lori D’Amato of Milwaukee; grandchildren, Eric Wiskerchen, Casey D’Amato and Josie D’Amato; family friend, Susan Wiskerchen; brother-in-law, John Grandelis, sister-in-law, Ruth Kempski and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his much- loved wife, Patricia (Kempski) Wiskerchen; parents Bertha and Walter Wiskerchen and sisters, Arlene Weggel and Dorothy Grandelis.

Lloyd was born May 27, 1932 in Kiel, to Walter and Bertha (Hammer) Wiskerchen. He graduated from St. Ann Catholic Grade School in 1946 and Kiel High School in 1950. In 1951 he left the dairy farm he grew up on to serve in the Air Police Branch of the Air Force. He served for two years, stationed at Eglin Air Force Base. He enjoyed telling the story of when he protected President Truman visiting the base. Lloyd married Patricia (nee Kempski) on February 9, 1957 in Milwaukee. They farmed in St. Anna for several years, then resided and raised their family in Milwaukee, where they remained married for 56 years.

Lloyd retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1992, after 28 years of dedicated service as a letter carrier and security officer. He was an active member of SS Cyril and Methodius Church for over 20 years and later of St. Charles Borromeo Church. Lloyd was dedicated to his faith, his family and the Green Bay Packers. Volunteering was an important part of his life including assisting the nuns at SS Cyril and Methodius, serving as union steward for the National Association of Letter Carriers, and helping out any friend in need. He enjoyed camping, planting flowers and putting up extensive Christmas decorations. More than anything, he enjoyed the company of children. His easy and joyful laugh was heard daily. He was much loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed.

Visitation and a celebration of Lloyd’s life will be Thursday October 25th at ST. CHARLES BORROMEO PARISH, 3100 W. Parnell Ave. in Milwaukee from 9:00 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Procession to St. Adalbert’s Cemetery will follow the Mass.

The family would like to share a very special thank you to all the staff and caregivers at Serenity Villa Assisted Living in Slinger for their kind and compassionate care of Lloyd over the past 6 ½ years. Also, thank you to Horizon Home Care and Hospice and Serenity Villa for their exceptional care of Lloyd during his final days.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association of Southeastern Wisconsin, 620 South 76th Street, suite 160, Milwaukee, WI 53214 would be greatly appreciated.
