Kirt, Elizabeth A. “Betsy” (nee Tuchel)

Our beautiful and loving mother went to heaven on August 8, 2018 after a long and courageous battle at the age of 76. She married the love of her life, Johnnie on September 21, 1960. She missed him terribly and after 15 long years she is now holding hands with him in heaven. Exceptionally loving and caring mother of Jeff (Nancy), Steve (Cheryl), Chris, Brian (Wendy) and Cathy (Steve) Slack. Proud grandma of 11. Great-grandma of 5.

Mom loved the simple things in life: potato chips, caffeine free Diet Coke, black coffee, black jelly beans, wafer cookies, and chocolate covered windmill cookies. She loved spending time with Melissa and Nancy at Potowatomi playing slots. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren especially at the lake up north and her mobile home.

She had many talents and showed her love through cooking for her family, gifts of quilts and beautiful items she would crochet or sew. She loved fashion, jewelry and especially the home shopping network. She ALWAYS put everyone else’s needs before her own.

Visitation will be Sunday August 12, 2018 at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home, N84 W17937 Menomonee Ave. in Menomonee Falls, from 10am-11am. Procession to Wisconsin Memorial Park will immediately follow the visitation.

We would like to thank the staff at Linden Grove, Community Memorial Hospital and especially the Garden View Unit team who provided her exceptional care in her final days.
