He married Debra (nee Grahn) on May 7, 1983, at his childhood church, St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Cudahy. The couple enjoyed working on home improvement projects and yard work together, and they were blessed with two children: a daughter, Chelsea, and a son, Joshua.

Mark was a hardworker and a jack of all trades, working in real estate, home assessing and appraisals, as well as managing properties. Before this, he worked at Crane Manufacturing where he met some of his lifelong friends and also worked at Zenar and as a mailman just like his dad and grandfather. He was even a hard worker as a child, doing a newspaper route and working at Worm Alive and Porky’s.

Although Mark traveled nearly 75 percent of the time for work in the beginning, he would bring back thimbles and spoons from every state he went to, which inspired his daughter to see every state in the United States. He also made sure he spent his limited time at home having fun with his family, such as going sledding, building snowmen, going hunting with his son and fishing Up North, as well as taking family vacations.

His family will miss his contagious laugh, sense of humor, work ethic, detailed stories, grasshoppers and old fashions at Christmas, weekly trips to Papa’s bakery, dinners at Denny’s where he always had a coupon, watching Packer games and going to church with him, as well as all the memories they made as a family.

" Well done, good and faithful servant" Matthew 25:21
