Col. Donald "Don" E. Seitz (retired), age 83, of wales, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 17, 2017, surrounded by his loving family at Seasons Hospice & Pallative Care in Waukesha after courageously fighting cancer.

Don was born on July 18, 1934 in Jefferson, WI. and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1952, where he met his high school sweet heart and future wife, Lassie L. (nee Longley) Seitz. He went on to attend one year at Marquette University, before being appointed to the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY, from 1953 to 1957. He went on to serve his country for 30 years. Don was a member of the Dousman American Legion, and enjoyed doing yard work, wood working, crossword puzzles, playing the lottery, and spending time with his family.

Don was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lassie L. (nee Longley) Seitz after 55 years of marriage,parents, Delos and Alice (nee Christ), and his brother, Robert Seitz. Don will be deeply missed by his loving children: Dan (fiance Terri Rivers) Seitz, Mike Seitz, Patti (Dr. John) Brusky, Susan Ott and Michelle (David) Schneider, nieces and nephews: Tom, Chris, Cynthia and Jon, grandchildren: Nicole (Brian) Novak, Steven (fiance Helen Wang) Brusky, Tyler Brusky, Danielle Brusky, Casey Ott, Brodi Ott,Devan Ott, Evan Schneider, Jake Schneider and Adam Schneider, his great grandson: Elliot Novak and his beloved dog, Boozer.

Vistation will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 36014 Sunset Drive, Dousman, from 3:00 pm until 5:30 pm with the funeral service immediately following. Commital service and full military honors will be held at Union Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove, WI. on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made in Don's name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
