Constance Marie Klatt (nee Wien) found Eternal Peace on July 31, 2017.
Preceded in death, by loving husband Chuck. As he did throughout their 59 years of marriage, Chuck will be there to hold the door open for Connie as she makes her entrance to our Lord’s Home. She will also be greeted by parents Stanley and Blanche (nee Wien), brothers Stanley, John (Grace), Tony, and Joe. Sisters Irene, Wanda, Fran, Bernadine and their amazing husbands. She is survived by her sisters Jeannette and Carol. She is a loved Aunt and Godmother to many nieces and nephews.
Connie is the beloved mother of Stan (Holli) Klatt, Kathy (James) Shaw, Karen (Flap) Buschman, Paul Klatt, Linda (Steve) Haebig. Much loved Grandmother to Andrew, Erica, Autumn, Rayna, David, Stephanie, Aly, and yes, Pugsy too.
Connie loved planning and participating in her children’s weddings and other wonderful life events. She cherished moments with grandchildren, caring for them as babies and young children and allowing them to do things she never would have permitted her children to do – like eating ice-cream for breakfast in her living room! She held all their accomplishments in her heart and cherished this past year seeing two off to college, two high school graduations, and her two youngest grandbabies thriving in high school.
Connie was devoted to Christ’s Mother Mary, dedicating her life to her family and to her Lord. A life-long member of St. Joseph’s Parish, she served as President of the Christian Women, as a member of the Liturgy Committee, as a Lay Minister, and as a Bereavement Counselor. She was an active member of the Christ Child Society, and with her husband Chuck, fed and ministered to the poor at St. Ben’s. She truly was a handmaiden of the Lord.
Connie also enjoyed time with friends and family and took pride in her notorious April Fools jokes over the years. Her kids lamented that April Fools was her Patron Saints Day. There are many memorable holiday parties and celebrations. With Old Fashions and High Balls flowing, friends like the Davids, Hartmans, Sommers, Panzers, Steinackers, and Sr. Jean - mostly Messmer School mates, Journal co-workers and fellow Parishioners - formed bonds of friendships that continue to today.
Connie felt blessed that God had provided her with so many gifts. Friendships. Family. Faith.
Funeral Services will be held on August 3, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Parish in Wauwatosa. 12130 West Center Street. Visitation at the Church begins at 2:00 p.m. until Mass of Christian Burial 3:00 p.m.
Memorials to School Sisters of Notre Dame (SSND) and Messmer Catholic Schools – STEM Program appreciated.
