Maggie Schimmel and Family:

Please accept out sincerest condolences on the recent passing of our dear friend George Schimmel. We just heard the news. I first met George when I received a traffic ticket and we "discussed" the situation....and he prevailed.(lessening the points, but not the financial portion). But during our discussion period we found out that we both spent some time in Korea and played an "important" role in helping MacArthur and Truman settle that tragic affair. Later, we enjoyed the many conversations we had when he served as president of the Go-Getters. He was a wonderful friend...and will be sincerely missed...but oftened remembered.

Karl and family...
Heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to all of you during this sad time.
God speed...

My deepest sympathies for your loss. I have lots of wonderful memories being at the Schimmel house and growing up in a wonderful neighborhood.
My thoughts and prayers are with everyone in your family.

What a beautiful man. Such a solid inspiration for everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. So sad for your loss. God will have his hands full, and you know he will be negotiating the best place in heaven for all of his family and friends. Will never forget all the great times on Big Saint with the Schimmel family, and their uncommon generosity - swimming, the island, BB guns, Joanie, Normandy Court, overflowing septic tank, hanging diapers and tree trunk booby-traps, and all the laughs. Oh, the raccoons too (Maggie, Mom told me the story;). God Bless George. Love - Mark and Julie

To the entire Schimmel Family, you have my most heartfelt condolences! I will forever remember the acceptance of myself and our family as we grew up in Tosa! I will also remember all the rides to Marquette HS. Most importantly, I know the love my father had for George and how much he treasured their friendship! I am certain they are sitting down together in heaven having a "drink"! Thoughts & Prayers to all. Mike Durnin (son of John & Rita Durnin)

Sad to hear the news - best wishes to the whole family. Growing up across the street, I have great memories of George Sr. (and everyone else of course)! That huge Lincoln TownCar and that Army jeep! In later years, George and Maggie were very helpful to our sister Karen and our mom and I thank them both for that.
