As an aide at Hamilton High School, I worked with Ben often over his high school career. I will remember his optimism, his desire to reach out to people 'having a bad day', and his drive to achieve his goal of becoming an inspirational speaker. I am so very sorry for your loss.

Our deepest thoughts and sympathy are with you and your family. It is always difficult to figure out what to say when tragedy strikes - the only words that come to mind are I'm so incredibly sorry for your loss. Although the pain is difficult, know that he left an ever lasting impression on our family and I will never forget how he made a cute joke about every situation. He brought a smile to all of us! He is a gem and we are forever grateful for having him in our lives for the last year. To Brad and Shelly and Ben's siblings and grandparents and family.....May God wrap his arms around you during these difficult days and help you put each foot forward. You are the best parents and Ben couldn't have been in a better family. He knew he was loved and hopefully that brings you some comfort. He was LOVED .....

I am stunned, shocked and heart-broken after hearing this tragic news. I fell in love with "Private Bean-a-Min" the first time I met him. I was so fortunate to be able to see that smile every morning when I drove him to school on my bus, then couldn't wait to hear about his day on the way home....always happy, always joking. Heaven has gained an amazing angel through our loss. Please accept my deepest sympathy.
