Non judgemental, caring, giving, honest, loving, and faithful are all words that most people use to describe someone they've lost; in Brian's case they are only the basis of his heart - every part of him stemmed from these very attributes. I can't think of a better way of describing our friendship and the brotherly love we had for each other.
Losing him is hard, and will be hard for years to come; I can only hope that it won't be as hard as knowing we were going to lose him. Many tears have been shed for many months and I'm sure more will be shed every year thinking, selfishly, of the memories we haven't been able to make during that year.
"Move on" and "just get it done" are the words he would say to us as we think of those times. As time moves on we will be more able to remember the awesome memories we have together than of those we couldn't make; in all things Brian will be remembered. I look forward to those little instances in life that will remind me of him - his thoughts, words, mannerisms, and actions. I'll do my best to write them down so as to better remember and think of him every January 10th. Stacey, I'd be honored to share those with you if you wish.
Brian, none of us, not a single one, will ever forget the love you had for your kids and family, especially Stacey and the utmost devotion you had to her. We will also NEVER leave her or even forget about her if for no other reason, albeit selfish, that she will remind us of you. In all honesty though, we will continue through life with her because of our love for her and the great friendship we've made due to you.
The world lost a special, TRULY SPECIAL, man and will mourn his loss even without knowing so - not knowing why that "special something" is missing. As for us, me, I lost one hell of a great friend - not only one that won't be replaced but one that can't. The hole left in my heart will surely shrink; it will never completely heal over. I'm a better man because of him.

You will be truly missed. We know you are at peace now but way too soon. There are many memories of you growing up at the lake and also camping with you and the family in Mich. What fun. My prayers and those of my family are with Stacey, Sarah, Stephanie, Ryan and most of all Ken and Betty. We love you all.
