Wilcox (and the four-legged boys) made me feel safe, welcome, and whole at a time when I didn't know that could happen for me. His loss among the living feels as big as the giant redwood forrests. Given that the intersection of my life with his was pretty limited, I cannot fathom how big the loss for those much closer. My heart breaks for Rachel and those nearest this giant presence.
