Sorry to read of her passing. She was a terrific teacher. I had her for trig and she made it so interesting. Rest in peace.

Mamie will be missed, with her beautiful smile and down to earth personality. I will remember her laughter at our AAGPBL reunions and her enthusiasm for the game.

I had “Miss Redman” as my geometry and trigonometry teacher while at Oconomowoc High School in the late 1960s. She was a strict teacher who knew her subject well. I always admired her printing...very neat and precise! The only frown I ever got from her as a student was when I had to leave her class for my band lesson. It was a scheduling issue that we both were caught up in. Influenced by her, I went on to get my teaching certification in physical education and math. My fondest memories are when “Miss Redman” became “Mame” to me as we played together on Loppy’s softball team in the Ixonia League. Such an honor to be a teammate of a former player of the Women’s Profession Baseball League! I have her signed baseball card which will always be special to me. I loved listening to her tell stories of her experiences as a professional player. In 1984 our Loppy,s team won a State Tournament played in EauClaire with Mame playing 2nd base at the age of 54. I thought that to be truly amazing! I know Mame had a strong faith in the Lord. When I think of Mame’s passing 2Timothy 4:7 comes to mind. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” Rest In Peace...but I know she will find a new team to play on.

I met Mamie through the Oconomowoc Historical Society when she gave a talk about the All Girl Baseball League. Saturday, Aug. 22, I was looking through my trading cards and found the one she signed. I pulled it out to put it aside to make a notation in the collection about it for my son. I wonder if she knew I was thinking of her and said a little prayer for her. Amazing woman, amazing teacher. This world was blessed to have her. Eternal rest Mamie and thanks for the memories.
