Sharon "Sherry" Louise Daley Jung
September 12, 1939 - May 27, 2020
Our dear Sherry, always a ray of sunshine, will be greatly missed by so many circles in Milwaukee - twirlers, Irish folk, Catholic education,Marquette,
the list goes on. Looks like the heavenly choir will now be joined by angelic twirlers. God bless Sherry, and bring comfort to the family as you celebrate a life that brought joy to so many.

So sorry to hear of Sherry's passing. Although I was never in the Debs, I took private lessons with Sherry for several years. Through her teaching I was able to win many Solo competitions, in various places. She was an awesome teacher, always inspiring & encouraging. So thankful for all she taught me.

I was so saddened to learn of Sherry's passing.
Words cannot express what an amazing person she was. Not only was she was an icon for the sport of baton twirling, but she was also a treasure to everyone who knew her. Having been part of the Daley Debutantes for most my early childhood, I was blessed to have Sherry as a strong influence in my life and I looked up to her in awe. I have so many wonderful memories from my years in the corps. I was so honored to be the first leprechaun and then go on to be a twirler in the corps. And I remember all the hard work, hours of practicing, and countless competitions, parades and performances. Sherry taught us to always carry through any challenge with our head held high and a smile on your face. I try to teach these lessons to my baton teams now, and I tell them stories about my days as a Deb.
In recent years, whenever I would see her at Notre Dame, she would always greet me with a smile, a tight hug and lots of encouraging words, telling me how proud she was of me. All three sisters have done this and it has meant so much to me. Sherry always made me feel like the best version of myself.
I will miss her so much.
My deepest condolences to the Daley & Jung families, and to all the Daley Debs. She will be missed but her legacy and her memory will never be forgotten.
Hugs and Love to you all.

Our deepest sympathy to Sherry's family. We were happy to be part of the "Debs" family. I was a majorette in the 1960's,our daughter,Becky, was a member of the Color Guard and Erv was a drum instructor for many years. We are thankful for the time spent with the "Debs" and will always remember Sherry's smile and warmth.

Sending you my deepest condolences. I was a neighbor of Sherry's for the past few years. I always enjoyed my chats with her, and I have a little one and we would chat about her beloved grandchildren. She was involved in our neighborhood, and I appreciate all the kindness she bestowed on me when I was president of the neighborhood. Sherry was a truly wonderful woman! Sending love to her family.

Oh my God ! I am truly devastated !!!
I want to extend my heartfelt sympathy and prayers to Marcy, Patti and to Sherry’s beautiful family whom she was very proud of.

The loss of Sherry brings a deep and special sadness. She was the link from my past to the present with countless letters and cards all with a special message and her signature hand drawn shamrock.
She was a role model for all girls and a champion of all children.
She was a beautiful soul, yet strong and focused.
The voice of reason in hectic situations.

Sherry seamlessly balanced home, social life, family, and work. Yet, there was always time to laugh— even if the joke involved her— sometimes especially if it involved her. No matter how many directions she was pulled in she had a way of making you feel as though she had time to listen, you were important and always offered insight.

She was an inspiration.

After Nationals one year I was asked to paint some pinball machines that her husband Jerry bought. Sherry was teaching, getting phone calls, making phone calls, visiting with me and preparing a casserole to take to Jenny’s apartment. Not because it was a special day but because it was Jenny’s favorite. And, by-the-way, all with a fresh manicure. This is just one of many years of memories.

In the poem “Remember Me” by Margaret Mead the words include,
“Remember me in your heart, your thoughts, your memories…
For if you always think of me I will never be gone.”

I feel blessed, humbled and honored to have these memories and I will always hold them dear.
