David Charles Nader
November 3, 1954 - May 11, 2020
Karen and Amy, I knew Dave as a student in several classes, including the 1987 UWM Geology Field Camp, as advisee to his MS research, and subsequently as a friend and colleague. He struck me as one of the most humble, low-key, but also intelligent individuals I've known over the years at UWM. He was a joy to work with and always contributed good ideas to any discussion, but was often to humble to take credit for those ideas. He also has the honor(?) of being the only UWM field camper to contract Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever - at least during my tie with the camp. We had to get him to the hospital, where he recovered, but was always apologizing for causing us to have to take the time to get him treatment. Just one example of his humbleness - never putting his own interests/well-being above anyone else's. Doug

Karen and Amy. I am truly heart-broken to hear of Dave’s passing; it brought me to tears; I can’t believe he’s gone. I consider him one of my best friends, even though we didn't get together very often because of busy lives with too many obligations and distractions. I personally have put too many things off until retirement, like getting together with old buddies to fish and share stories, drink a good beer or two and swap more stories, or talk geology and share good memories. I will cherish my memories of Dave and I plan to tip a Lowenbrau dark (from the Washington Heights days) in his memory, hopefully with many of his saddened family and friends, soon. Please let me know (muellsd@gmail.com) if there is anything I can help you with. Take care, hope to see you soon,
Steve & Tina

Dave was a really wonderful man. I was privileged to know him as a colleague at UWM and HSI, and as a friend. Although it has been years since we last met, I still think of him often, with great fondness. My condolences to Karen, Amy, and all of Dave's family and friends. He will be missed.

We could have not asked for a better friend. We are all better for having known Dave. Dave loved his family so much. He was so serious about honoring those that came before him. He was always quick to share the accomplishments of those he loved. Nothing was more important than spending time with Karen and Amy. Words can't express the sadness. When Dave has his first meal in heaven it will have a hair in it.
